Desai

Rishi joined Merida in August 2021 and serves as the firm’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.  Prior to joining Merida, Rishi was a Senior Vice President at Hudson Advisors L.P., the investment adviser to the Lone Star Funds (real estate private equity).  He spent approximately five years working in asset management focused on oil and gas investments, specifically as the Head of Legal and Compliance at EnCap Investments L.P. (venture capital) and in the same role at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. Asset Management (multi-strategy manager).  Prior to working in oil and gas, Rishi served in a legal and compliance capacity at The Investment Fund for Foundations, a fund-of-funds for endowed nonprofit institutions.  He also served as Director and Counsel at The Cipperman Companies, a boutique investment management law firm and regulatory compliance consulting company.  Rishi began his career as an attorney at Thompson Hine LLP in the investment management and commercial finance groups.

 

Rishi received his J.D. from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law and his B.A. in Economics from The George Washington University.
