Jeff joined Merida in 2017 and serves on the firm’s Investment Committee. Jeff has been investing in cannabis since 2013, beginning with an investment in Theraplant LLC, where he backed Mitch Baruchowitz’s Connecticut licensing efforts, and brings over fifteen years of institutional investment experience to the firm. Prior to joining Merida, Jeff served in an analyst role at Rockbay Capital, where he was a partner who helped grow the firm to $1 billion in AUM, and FrontPoint Rockbay LP, an event-driven hedge fund in New York. Prior to this, Jeff served as a Senior Analyst at Seven Locks Capital, a long/short equity hedge fund. Before Seven Locks, Jeff was a Senior Analyst at Sage Rock Capital, an event-driven hedge fund. Prior to Sage Rock, Jeff worked in the Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies Group, analyzing public-market opportunities for the firm’s proprietary investment fund. Jeff began his career in the Mergers and Acquisitions department of Goldman Sachs.
Jeff received a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
